●● 熱き思い 「Brown Sugar」の役や「Be Kind Rewind」の役などがハマリ役だったと思います。個性的でチャーミング。 でも「Something the Lord Made」や「The Woodsman」みたいな真面目な役をサラリと出来てしまうのが、モス・デフの凄い所。 「Bamboozled」は、そのまんまという感じもした。

●● バイオ モス・デフの名でも知られるダンテ・テレル・スミスはニューヨークはブルックリンのベッドフォード・スタイベサントに生まれ育った。9歳になるとラップと演技を始めるようになる。15歳になった1988年には本名でTV映画「God Bless the Child」に出演。その後にビル・コスビーのTV映画「The Cosby Mysteries」に出演、TVシリーズとなった同作品にも少し参加している。 大学はニューヨーク大学に進み、実験的演劇を学んでいる。 その頃にラッパーとしても「ネイティブ・タン」に所属。1996年にはダ・ブッシュ・ベイビーズのアルバム「Gravity」に参加して、一躍注目を集める。1998年にはタリブ・クウェリと「Black Star」を組み人気となった。 2000年にはスパイク・リーの「Bamboozled」に参加、その後ビヨンセと共演したTV映画「Carmen: A Hip Hopera」を機に飛躍的に映画でも活躍していく。ハリ・ベリーがオスカーを獲得した「The Monster's Ball」やF・ゲイリー・グレイ監督の「The Italian Job」等の出演により益々人気度が増した。「The Woodsman」や「Something the Lord Made」ではシリアスな演技も披露。「Something the Lord Made」では、イギリスの実力派俳優のアラン・リックマンと共演し、アワードでも注目される存在となった。 2005年の「The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy」では主役の一人、2008年の「Be Kind Rewind」では人気の喜劇俳優ジャック・ブラックと共演する等、今一番注目されている俳優であり、ラッパーである。
