デビー・アレンと言えば、ダンス。ダンスと言えば、デビー・アレン。と言う位に、彼女のダンスは有名だ。その得意なダンスを生かした舞台仕込みの派手な演技が、私は好きだったりする...
名ドラマ「フェーム」でのダンス講師役。番組のオープニングで姐御口調で厳しく生徒に気合を入れるデビー・アレンが一番好きです。

●● バイオ
父親が歯医者で、母親がピューリツア賞にノミネートされた詩人を持つアレンは、母の強い意志で、子供たちに差別のない所で、いい影響を与えようと、メキシコに1年以上移住した。その後、アメリカに戻り、ハワード大学（アフロアメリカ系大学ではトップ）を卒業した。映画などに出演するようになり、持ち前の才能であったダンスを生かし、「フェーム」という芸術高校をテーマにしたドラマに、監督・プロデュース・出演し、エミー賞を受賞した。その後も、監督や女優、そして振付け師として、アカデミー賞を幾度も担当した。「コスビー・ショー」のフィリシア・ラシャドが実の姉。
